Steve promotes the firm’s value to current and prospective clients, while contributing to its expert design/build capabilities and ensuring delivery of consistently high-quality service. His responsibilities include maintaining the company’s client relationships, expanding its client base and market share, and developing and implementing the firm’s marketing strategy. He also provides design engineering services and oversees the service department’s performance of contract and “time and materials” maintenance, as well as its handling of small projects. In addition, as the company’s ISO officer, he manages the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 certification processes.

 

Expertise

Steve has 25 years of general and mechanical contracting experience in the healthcare and industrial arenas. This experience has enabled him to build the expertise needed to effectively manage contractors in the field, supervise tradesmen, and coordinate mechanical and electrical contractors and systems. He can also manage safety programs, including OSHA 300 and first-aid training. He has the management skills needed to efficiently implement organizational procedures and methodologies. And he knows how to improve established policies and standards by applying business best practices.

Steve began his career as a process engineer at the General Motors Technical Center. He then held positions as a design engineer at Durr Industries, project superintendent at Barton Malow, and mechanical electrical plumbing coordinator for Bateson Daily. Before joining PACE, he was president of Coredinates, Inc.

Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lawrence Technological University. He has also taken courses at the Boston Architectural Center and Michigan State University. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and the Construction Association of Michigan.

 

The Personal Side

Steve has one daughter, Alexandra. He enjoys all sports, including motorcycling, auto racing, golf and tennis.
